Visions

Strengthening Resident Communication

The City of Wyandotte is in the process of relaunching a brand-new website, designed to make it easier for residents to find important information, pay bills, and stay connected with city services. The redesigned website will offer improved navigation, enhanced search features, and a modernized look to better serve the community. Additionally, residents will soon be able to opt in for text message alerts for non-emergency updates.

Investing in Recreation & Community Spaces

Mayor DeSana understands the importance of recreation and wellness for Wyandotte residents. That’s why the city is conducting a feasibility study to explore the development of a new civic center, which could include a gym, pool, and other amenities to enhance local recreational opportunities.

Improving Emergency Access for Vulnerable Residents

Mayor Rob DeSana played a key role in bringing the Wyandotte Fire Department’s Secure Lock Box Program to life. Recognizing the need to improve emergency access for the city’s seniors and disabled residents, Mayor DeSana championed the initiative from concept to launch. Thanks to his leadership and collaboration with local partners—including Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, BASF Corp., and the Wyandotte Rotary Club—the program will provide faster, safer emergency response while protecting residents’ homes from unnecessary damage.

FUTURE

The Downtown Infrastructure Project is transforming the heart of Wyandotte, improving streets, alleys, and public spaces to create a more inviting and vibrant atmosphere for residents and businesses alike. This major investment is made possible through:

$6.3 million in grants from Wayne County ARPA Funds, MEDC RAP Grant, SEMCOG, and contributions from the Ralph Wilson Jr. and Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan
$6.5 million in revenue bonds issued by the Downtown Development Authority (DDA)
$1.2 million in special assessments paid by downtown businesses and property owners benefiting from the improvements

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY

A strong city starts with responsible financial management. Under Mayor DeSana’s leadership, Wyandotte’s budget remains stable, with revenues exceeding expenditures. Additionally, the city has invested in capital improvements to upgrade road equipment, ensuring better leaf pickup, snow removal, and other essential services.
COMMITMENT

With strong leadership, smart investments, and a commitment to the community, Wyandotte is thriving. Mayor DeSana remains focused on delivering results that enhance quality of life, support local businesses, and ensure long-term success. With your support, we can continue making Wyandotte an even better place to live, work, and visit.
